The successful applicant will contribute to the full processes of creating the perfect Neapolitian-style pizza. While applicants may have prior experience in some or all of these processes, extensive in-house training will be provided in all areas mentioned.

Prior food safety training is desirable and Pompeii Pizza’s high standard of food safety is demanded. Organisational skills are required and the kitchen should be kept clean and tidy during the work day to our reasonable standards.

The applicant will be required to perform food prep for each service, therefore prior experience in this area is required. They must be a clean and tidy worker with good interpersonal skills.

The focus will be on learning how to make a pizza from scratch at home. Participants will make their own dough & learn how to shape & top a pizza. Everyone gets a pizza on the day, and bring home dough to practice at home. Don't miss the chance to get pizzaiolo tuition from Cork's wood-fired pizza experts.

What

Our chef will demonstrate how to stretch the dough, add sauce, toppings, & cook the pizza in a wood-fired oven. Pick up some top tips & making your own pizza under the guidance of our chef. Everyone gets a pizza on the day and bring home dough to practice with later.

The Franciscan Well beer maestro will be there with a fab selection of Franciscan Well beers, brewed locally at the Cork Docklands. Bask in the glory when your freshly baked pizza comes out of the oven & enjoy it with a complimentary Franciscan Well beer.

Three other Cork businesses are featured in the awards, which are a "celebration of excellence in the takeaway sector" across Ireland. Nominees in each category are selected by an internal Just Eat judging panel. But the winners are chosen by popular vote. And each voter is in with a chance to win a year of free takeaway!

Builín Beg - Our Sister Sourdough Bakery

Kerry, where we have our seasonal pizzeria. Located in the Uíbh Ráthaigh (Iveragh) Gaeltacht region, the name translates as 'little loaf'.

They've been gearing up since the summer and are now doing two weekly bakes - on Wednesdays and Fridays. Currently the offering is a choice between the Common Sourdough Loaf, which is a light wholegrain, and a Rye Sourdough Loaf, which is a blended rye loaf.

Pompeii in Kerry

Kerry is back in action for the summer season. For the month of June, we're open 5 days: Wednesday to Sunday 4-9pm. You'll find our pizza trailer at the stunning coastal location of Wave Crest Caravan & Camping Park.

Due to it's roadside location and ample parking, the pizza trailer is easily accessible. We offer pizza for takeaway, but there is an outdoor seating area with plenty of picnic benches. For wetter or winder days, patrons can avail of the sheltered seating area to the rear of Siopa Glaise Rinn.

All our pizzas are prepared and freshly baked to order. To ensure you receive them hot out of the oven, we don't take pre-orders. The cooking time is very quick - under 2 minutes, so once you place your order the wait is minimal.

This is our third summer based in Caherdaniel. Previously, we spent two summers at nearby Waterville, another jewel on the Ring of Kerry. There is a wealth of things to see and do in this area, from visiting the historic Derrynane House and its beautiful gardens to a range of sea-sports activities, exploring the local wildlife, discovering the coastline, cycling, and much more.
